After many, many months of formulating and testing...Kindhearted Women Foot Balm is HERE! To make our Foot Balm we begin an ample amount of Kokum Butter, (Garcinia indica), a hard white butter from a tree in India. Kokum is known for its ability to soften skin and heal ulcerations and fissures, especially those on the hands and feet (think cracked heels). Kokum butter is said to reduce the degeneration of skin cells and help to restore skin's youthful elasticity. Kokum will not clog pores and melts in contact with the skin. To the butter we add Castor Bean Oil. Oil from the castor bean is rich in fatty acids and very soothing and lubricating to the skin; it also acts as a humectant, drawing needed moisture to the skin. Lastly we add a touch of the highly therapeutic and regenerative hemp seed and avocado oils. Hemp oil is rich in omega 3 and 6 and GLA (gamma linolenic acid), which make it an excellent natural emollient and moisturizer. Hemp seed oil can reduce skin discomfort and restore and heal dry damaged skin. Avocado oil is a highly penetrating oil containing vitamins A, B1, B2, B5, D, E, beta carotene, as well as minerals, protein, lecithin and fatty acids.
Our Foot Balm is a "dry butter" which means it won't feel greasy, tacky or overly oily. It is also a hard butter, so we have included a small reusable cosmetic spatula with each order. Use this spatula to remove the butter from the jar. Despite the name, Foot Balm is not just for feet, but useful on any area where the skin is hardened, cracked, ulcerated or extra dry. We suggest you begin with one application of a small amount of Foot Balm at bedtime. Use of a natural pumice stone while bathing or showering can also help to remove dry, rough areas. If you find your skin is still dry and/or cracking, increase applications until the areas begin to respond. Some people prefer to cover their feet with cotton socks after applying Foot Balm to keep the butter warm and hold it against their feet. Available in 4 ounce jar.
